the pharmaceutical industry and contract research organisations. My clients have
included many companies in Although medical research and especially the pharmaceutical industry
are my main areas of expertise, my clients have also included businesses,
charities and individuals in other fields, including legal, educational and

I have more than
25 years experience of applied statistics and programming for clinical
and nonclinical research and development. After early experience as a
computer programmer and systems analyst, I worked as a statistician in
industry (product development, QC, QA) for 3½ years and in
clinical research in the National Health Service for 2½ years
before spending eight years in the pharmaceutical industry with Fisons
Pharmaceuticals, Warner Lambert and G D Searle, followed by more
than 20 years providing consulting services to the pharmaceutical
industry. I am a Chartered
Statistician and a member of the Royal
Statistical Society, the American
Statistical Association, the
Biometric Society, and PSI
(Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry).
